Tsunami

Sadness has engulfed me today. She has swallowed me up but won't spit me out. She has allowed me to take breaths of air, but swallows me up again. Slowly, ever so slowly she covers me. She removes the joy from everything in her wake. A tsunami I cannot outrun today.
